This place is different. It’s like a step back in time. You can tell the difference when you walk in the door. Cheerful banter. Wonderous portions. Savory smells of roasts and baking pies. We’re talking about Good Old Fashioned Home cooking! In today’s age of fast food and impersonal service Margie’s is an island of deliciously prepared meals and friendly servers. We laugh and joke a lot, but don’t be fooled. We’re very serious about the food.

 

Back in the 80's when Margie was working as a banquet chef at a fancy Napa Valley hotel, she and Ken talked a lot about how someday they would open a plain old fashioned Diner and serve simple American food cooked with care and expertise.

 

Well, we’ve been doing that now for over 20 years. Every year we’re awarded honors by various reviewers. Best Diner. Best Breakfast. Best Burger. But the one we value most is the “Best meal for your money on the central coast”. We’ve always done that and we intend to continue.
